Gift Deed

A gift deed must be voluntarily executed, accepted by the recipient during the donor's lifetime, and — for immovable property — compulsorily registered to be legally valid; an unregistered gift of immovable property generally has no legal effect.

Once validly completed and accepted, a gift is generally irrevocable, except in specific limited circumstances recognised by law, such as fraud or where the deed itself reserves a right of revocation.
