Bankruptcy / Insolvency Law
Insolvency Professional
A qualified professional who takes over management of a company (or individual's affairs) during insolvency proceedings, to run the process and, where possible, work out a resolution.
Once insolvency proceedings begin, an insolvency professional steps in to manage the company's day-to-day affairs, verify creditor claims, and help facilitate the process of finding a resolution plan or moving to liquidation.
They are regulated by a dedicated professional body and are expected to act independently and in the collective interest of all creditors, not any single stakeholder.
