Patent Infringement
Making, using, selling, or importing a patented invention without the patent holder's authorisation, during the term the patent remains in force.
A patent holder can sue for infringement seeking an injunction and damages, and infringement cases often turn heavily on technical evidence comparing the accused product or process against the exact scope of the patent's claims.
An accused infringer can defend by challenging the validity of the patent itself, arguing it shouldn't have been granted in the first place.
