Conveyance Deed

A deed transferring ownership of land or a building from a developer or society to the individual flat owners or the owners' association.

In many housing developments, the developer initially retains formal ownership of the underlying land even after selling individual flats, until a conveyance deed formally transfers this ownership to the flat owners' association or society.

Getting a conveyance deed executed is important for the flat owners' association to have full legal control over common areas and the underlying land, including for future redevelopment.
