Joint Ownership (Property)
Ownership of a property by two or more persons together, each holding a defined or undivided share in it.
Joint ownership can take different legal forms, affecting matters like whether a share automatically passes to the other owner(s) on death, or whether it forms part of the deceased owner's separate estate to be inherited by their own heirs.
Disputes among joint owners over use, sale, or division of the property are commonly resolved either by mutual agreement or through a partition suit.
