Immigration Law
Look Out Circular (LOC)
A notice issued by authorities to immigration checkpoints, restricting or monitoring a specific person's travel out of (or into) the country.
An LOC is typically issued in connection with a pending criminal investigation or court proceeding, to prevent a person of interest from leaving the country and evading legal process.
A person affected by an LOC can approach the court to have it reviewed or lifted, particularly if the underlying case doesn't genuinely warrant restricting their travel.
