NDPS Law

NDPS Commercial Quantity

A quantity of a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance above a specified threshold, attracting the most stringent punishment and bail conditions under narcotics law.

Narcotics law classifies seized quantities as small, intermediate, or commercial, with commercial quantity cases carrying the harshest minimum sentences and additional statutory conditions that must be satisfied before bail can even be considered.

Because of these heightened restrictions, securing bail in a commercial quantity NDPS case is significantly more difficult than in most other categories of criminal cases.
