Partition Deed

A document formally dividing jointly owned property among co-owners, specifying each person's separate share going forward.

Where family members or co-owners agree amicably on how to divide jointly held property, a partition deed records that agreement, converting what was a shared, undivided interest into clearly defined, separately owned portions.

Where co-owners cannot agree, the same result can be achieved through a court-ordered partition, following a partition suit.
