Review Petition
A petition asking the same court that passed a judgment to reconsider it, on grounds like discovery of new evidence or an error apparent on the face of the record.
A review petition isn't an opportunity to reargue the case as though it were a fresh appeal — it is meant for narrow, specific situations such as a clear factual or legal error visible on the record, or genuinely new and important evidence that wasn't available earlier.
It must generally be filed within a limited period from the date of the original judgment.
