Advocate
A person legally qualified and enrolled with a Bar Council to practise law and represent clients before courts and tribunals in India.
To practise as an advocate, a person must hold a recognised law degree, clear the All India Bar Examination, and be enrolled with a State Bar Council, which grants them the right to appear and argue before courts across the country.
Advocates are bound by a professional code of conduct set by the Bar Council of India, covering matters like client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and fee conduct.
