The constitutional provision giving citizens the right to directly approach the Supreme Court for enforcement of their Fundamental Rights.
Described by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the "heart and soul" of the Constitution, this provision lets a person move the Supreme Court directly — through writs like habeas corpus, mandamus, and certiorari — whenever a Fundamental Right is violated.
A parallel, broadly similar power exists for High Courts under a separate constitutional provision, giving citizens more than one forum to seek this kind of relief.
