Company Strike Off
The removal of a company's name from the Register of Companies by the Registrar, either on the company's own application or for prolonged non-compliance.
A dormant company with no ongoing operations can apply to be struck off to formally close it down with minimal compliance burden, while the Registrar can also strike off a company that has failed to carry on business or comply with filing requirements for a specified period.
A struck-off company can, in certain circumstances, be restored to the register if a genuine reason is shown, such as a creditor or shareholder needing it reinstated to pursue a claim.
