Franchise Agreement

A contract granting a person or business (the franchisee) the right to operate under an established brand and business model, in exchange for fees and adherence to specified standards.

Franchise agreements typically cover matters like territory rights, use of the brand and trademarks, ongoing fees, quality control standards, and what happens on termination of the relationship.

India doesn't have one dedicated franchise-specific statute, so such agreements are governed by general contract, trademark, and competition law principles.
