Self-Acquired Property
Property a person has acquired through their own effort, resources, or independent means, over which they generally have full and unrestricted rights of disposal.
Unlike ancestral property, self-acquired property belongs absolutely to the person who acquired it, and they can sell, gift, or bequeath it as they wish, without other family members automatically having a right by birth in it.
On the owner's death without a will, self-acquired property passes according to the ordinary rules of intestate succession applicable to them.
