Streedhan
Property, including gifts, jewellery, and money, given to a woman before, during, or after her marriage, which remains her absolute property.
Streedhan belongs exclusively to the woman and does not become joint or family property merely because it was received around the time of marriage — she retains full ownership and control over it even after marriage.
Disputes over streedhan commonly arise during separation or divorce, when a woman seeks the return of jewellery and gifts that were retained by the husband's family.
