Voidable Contract
An agreement that is valid and enforceable unless the party whose consent was affected — such as by coercion or fraud — chooses to avoid it.
Where consent to a contract was obtained through coercion, undue influence, fraud, or misrepresentation, the affected party has the option to either continue treating the contract as binding, or to avoid (cancel) it — the contract remains valid unless and until they actually exercise that choice.
This flexibility protects the affected party's right to decide what's in their own best interest, rather than automatically voiding the agreement regardless of their wishes.
