Internal Committee (POSH)

A committee every qualifying workplace must set up to receive and inquire into complaints of sexual harassment, with a mandated composition including external members.

The committee must be headed by a senior woman employee and include an external member with relevant expertise, ensuring the inquiry process has independence and credibility rather than being controlled purely by internal management.

The committee's inquiry and recommendations form the basis for what action the employer ultimately takes against the person complained against.
