Registered Trademark

Registration gives the owner a statutory right to prevent others from using an identical or deceptively similar mark for similar goods or services, and makes it considerably easier to enforce that right through infringement action, compared to relying only on unregistered common law rights.

Trademark registration is valid for ten years at a time and can be renewed indefinitely, as long as the mark continues to be used and renewal formalities are completed.
