Revision Petition
An application asking a higher court to examine the legality, correctness, or propriety of an order passed by a subordinate court.
A revision petition is a more limited remedy than a full appeal — it invites the higher court to check whether the lower court's order suffers from a jurisdictional error, illegality, or a serious procedural irregularity, rather than to reassess every finding of fact.
It is commonly used to challenge interlocutory (interim) orders passed during a case, where a full appeal isn't otherwise available at that stage.
