Standing Committee (Sexual Harassment)

A committee constituted at the district level to handle sexual harassment complaints from workplaces too small to have their own Internal Committee, or involving the employer.

Where a workplace has fewer than the minimum number of employees required to constitute its own Internal Committee, or where the complaint is against the employer, a complainant can approach the district-level committee instead, ensuring no workplace is entirely without a redress mechanism.

It follows a broadly similar inquiry process to an Internal Committee, adapted to handle complaints from multiple smaller establishments.
