Third-Party Insurance
A mandatory motor insurance policy covering liability toward third parties for injury, death, or property damage caused by the insured vehicle.
Every motor vehicle used in a public place must carry at least third-party insurance, which compensates people other than the vehicle owner/driver — pedestrians, other motorists — for harm caused by that vehicle, regardless of any separate own-damage cover.
Driving without valid third-party insurance is itself a punishable offence, independent of any liability that might arise from an actual accident.
