Virtual Hearing
A court hearing conducted through video conferencing rather than requiring physical presence of the parties, lawyers, or witnesses in the courtroom.
Virtual hearings became widespread and are now a permanent feature of many courts, offering convenience particularly for parties, witnesses, or lawyers located far from the court, or in circumstances where physical presence isn't practical.
Courts retain discretion over which matters are suitable for virtual hearings, with more complex or sensitive proceedings sometimes still requiring physical presence.
