Wrongful Termination

Dismissal of an employee in violation of the terms of their employment contract, applicable labour law, or proper procedure.

Termination can be challenged as wrongful where the employer didn't follow the required notice period or procedure, dismissed the employee without valid cause, or acted in violation of specific protections (such as during maternity leave).

Remedies can include reinstatement, back wages, or compensation, depending on the forum and the specific facts, and which particular labour law applies to that category of employee.
