Ad-interim Order
A temporary order passed by a court to preserve the situation immediately, pending a fuller hearing on an interim application.
An ad-interim order is granted urgently, often on the same day an application is filed, to prevent immediate irreparable harm while the court schedules a proper hearing with both sides present to decide the interim application more fully.
It is inherently short-term and subject to revision or vacation once the fuller hearing takes place.
