Decree
The formal expression of a court's final decision in a civil suit, conclusively determining the rights of the parties on the matters in dispute.
A decree is what officially concludes a civil suit — it can be preliminary (leaving certain further matters, like accounting, to be worked out) or final, and is what a party actually executes to enforce their rights, rather than the judgment itself.
Once passed, a decree can be appealed to a higher court, and if not complied with voluntarily, the decree-holder can initiate execution proceedings.
