Bailable Warrant
A warrant that allows the person arrested under it to be released immediately on furnishing bail, without further court appearance for that purpose.
When a court issues a bailable warrant, it is essentially telling the police: arrest this person, but let them go on bail as soon as they furnish the bond mentioned in the warrant, rather than holding them in custody until the next hearing.
It's typically used for less serious lapses, such as a first failure to appear, where the court doesn't consider custodial detention necessary but still wants to compel attendance.
