Criminal Breach of Trust

This offence applies when someone who has been lawfully entrusted with property or given control over it — an employee handling company funds, or an agent managing another's assets, for example — dishonestly misappropriates, converts, or disposes of it for their own use, contrary to the terms of the entrustment.

It is distinguished from theft mainly by the fact that the accused originally had lawful possession of the property, which they then breached the trust of.
