E-Filing (Court Cases)

The electronic submission of court documents and pleadings through an online portal, rather than physically filing paper documents at the court registry.

Many courts now allow or require e-filing for at least some categories of documents, making the filing process faster and more accessible, particularly useful for litigants and lawyers who cannot easily visit the court registry in person.

E-filing systems typically generate an official acknowledgment confirming the date and time of submission, which can be important where filing deadlines apply.
