Extortion

Extortion involves intentionally putting someone in fear of injury — to themselves or someone else — and using that fear to dishonestly induce them to deliver property, money, or a valuable document they wouldn't otherwise have parted with.

It differs from robbery mainly in the method: extortion relies on a threat inducing the victim to hand something over, while robbery typically involves direct force or the threat of instant harm during the act itself.
