Criminal Law
Fast Track Court
A specially designated court set up to hear and dispose of specific categories of cases — such as those involving crimes against women — on a priority basis.
Fast Track Courts are established to reduce the backlog and delay in categories of cases considered especially urgent, such as sexual offences, cases involving senior citizens, or matters pending for a long time, aiming for quicker trial and disposal.
They follow the same procedural law as regular courts, just with dedicated resources and a mandate to prioritise speed without compromising fairness.
