Legacy
A term often used interchangeably with "bequest," referring to property or money given to someone through a will.
While closely related to and often used synonymously with bequest, "legacy" is sometimes used more specifically for a gift of money, as distinguished from a bequest of specific property or assets.
Both terms describe testamentary gifts that only take legal effect once the will comes into operation after the testator's death.
