Section 91 Summons (Document Production)
A court order directing a person to produce a specific document or thing considered necessary for the purposes of an investigation, inquiry, or trial.
This provision lets a court or, at an earlier stage, a police officer, compel production of documents relevant to a case from any person believed to be in possession of them, which can be crucial where key evidence is held by a third party.
Refusal to comply with such a summons without lawful justification can itself attract legal consequences.
