Civil Law
Small Cause Court
A court dealing with civil disputes of a relatively small monetary value, following a simplified and quicker procedure than ordinary civil courts.
Small Cause Courts handle money claims below a specified value using a more summary, less formal procedure, meant to give litigants with smaller disputes quicker access to justice without the extended timelines of a regular civil suit.
Certain categories of disputes, like some tenancy matters in particular cities, are also routed through these courts given their more limited and specific subject-matter jurisdiction.
