Trust Deed

A document creating a trust, under which property is transferred to a trustee to hold and manage for the benefit of specified beneficiaries.

A trust deed names the settlor (who creates the trust), the trustee (who manages the property), and the beneficiaries (who benefit from it), and sets out the terms on which the trust property is to be held, used, and eventually distributed.

Trusts are commonly used for estate planning, charitable purposes, and to manage assets on behalf of minors or others unable to manage property themselves.
