Warrant
A written order from a court authorising the police to arrest a person and produce them before the court.
A warrant is issued when a court decides that simply summoning a person isn't sufficient — for example, when someone has repeatedly failed to appear despite a summons, or the offence and circumstances warrant immediate custody.
It directs the police to arrest the named individual and bring them before the court, and can be executed by any police officer within the relevant jurisdiction (or beyond it, depending on how it is endorsed).
