A mediation facility attached to Consumer Commissions, offering parties the option to resolve disputes through mediated settlement rather than a full adjudicated hearing.
Consumer mediation offers a faster, more collaborative route to resolving disputes, with a trained mediator helping both sides reach a mutually acceptable settlement, which the Commission can then record and make binding.
Referral to mediation is generally with the consent of both parties, and if mediation fails, the matter simply proceeds to be decided by the Commission in the usual manner.
