Notary
A person legally authorised to witness the signing of documents, administer oaths, and certify copies as true, lending official authenticity to such acts.
Notarisation is often required (or advisable) for certain documents like affidavits and powers of attorney, adding a layer of formal verification that the document was genuinely signed by the person concerned before an authorised official.
While notarisation confirms the document was signed as claimed, it doesn't by itself certify the truth of the contents or the legal validity of the underlying transaction.
