Power of Attorney (General)
A legal document authorising a named person (the attorney) to act on behalf of another (the principal) in specified matters or generally.
A power of attorney can be general (broad authority across many matters) or specific (limited to a particular transaction, like selling a specific property), and can also be made durable, remaining valid even if the principal later becomes mentally incapacitated.
It automatically ends on the principal's death, and can be revoked by the principal at any time while they remain competent to do so.
